If history has taught us anything in regards to active shooter situations, it is that responding to an active shooter needs to be trained for and handled at the patrol level. Past events have proven that tactical teams will likely not be able to respond in adequate time to neutralize the threat.
This two day course is designed to instruct all officers, at all levels, in techniques and tactics that can effectively be used in response to an active shooter. Termed “Rapid Deployment,” these techniques and tactics are meant to show officers at the first responder level how to maneuver in small teams in order to neutralize an immediate threat as quickly as possible. The goal is simple: isolate the threat, and save lives.
Day One: Morning portion will consist of classroom instruction using PowerPoint. Afternoon portion will focus on movements upon approach, in hallways, stairways, and basic room entry/clearing
