This 5-day course is activity intensive and designed to better prepare emergency response personnel to manage large, complex incidents effectively by using the functional components of the Incident Command System. The focus of the course is to enhance the skills necessary to operate as a team in various Command and General Staff positions and to promote a better understanding of team operations through application during various simulations.
Students will participate in multiple breakout sessions where they will develop Incident Action Plans for a variety of simulated situations. Students must fully participate in all classroom activities; break out sessions and a written examination. Students will also gain experience in computerized development of Incident Action Plans.
** This course complies with NIMS ICS Level 300 & 400.
** Prerequisites: ICS 100 & ICS 200 or Unified Command. Documentation of successful completion is required.
* This course is underwritten by the Illinois Terrorism Task Force, there is no cost to the student. Pre-registration is required. A registration form must be sent in to IFSI prior to the registration deadline. NO WALKINS ALLOWED. The registration deadline is October 14, 2011.

Course Hours:
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on November 14 & 18;
8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on November 15-17 (The hours on Nov. 15-17 are dependent on the amount of time taken to complete the class assignments. Students should be prepared to remain until 7:00 p.m.)
